I thought it was about time I introduced my kitty tribe a little more formally so here they are in all their fluffy glory 🐈
Sookie
Also known as:
Sooks, SookieBean, BigBean, BigBubba, BigSquish.
Sookie is The Boss. Some may call her a bully, but she’s just a gal who knows what she wants and won’t let anything stand in her way. Full of tortitude, she gets what she wants (most of the time) and is a lover of allllll the catnaps. A cuddlebug, too, who greets everyone entering her house. She’s a lap cat who loves head and neck scritches but DO NOT TOUCH THE BELLY. She eats anything and everything in sight, if I let her. Fiercely protective, Sookie will swipe, hiss and growl to warn off anybody trying to mess with her or her own. She may act like she doesn’t like the rest of the tribe, but I’ve caught her snuggled up with each and every one of them on more than one occasion. She can’t fool me.
Freddo
Also known as:
Fred, Frederick, Fred The Red, The Boy, BigBoy, BabyBoy.
Freddo is the kind of snugglesome cat who takes up every inch of space available to him. A handsome fellow with the gentlest soul, who always says hello and goodbye as he ventures out to the garden on his daily prowls. He doesn’t go far, and loves to sit in the box we have out there for him and watch the birds. He’s a BIG blepper (pokes his tongue out a lot) and he loves to headbutt when he’s after some fusses. Stretched out belly rubs are his absolute favourite, activating his purr, which is deep and thunder-like. A lover of ALL the food off my plate and insists that I put his biscuits on the floor before he chows down — bowls are too much of an inconvenience for him.
Kush
Also known as:
KushyBean, LittleBean, BabyBean, SquishyBean, LittleSquish, TeenyBaby.
The sweetest girl and my little baby. Kush is the most timid little kitty you ever did meet. She’ll hide as soon as there’s a loud noise, an unexpected movement or a visitor to the house. Sometimes we won’t see her for a good hour or so after something has spooked her, she’s so little she can hide anywhere! She’s starting to get braver, though, and will demand pets and fusses when she really wants them (usually of an evening.)
A hip cat (although she’s very cool, that’s not what I mean) — Kush will sleep on my hip every single night, but daren’t sit on my lap for a cuddle in the daytime, although many a biscuit is made before she wanders off, making me think, every single day, that today is the day she’ll settle down for a cwtch. One day it WILL happen. I’m sure of it! Watch this space.
Sox
Also known as:
SoxyBean, SquashyBean, TinyBean, Baby, Teeny, CrazyBaby.
The actual baby of the bunch, she’s the daughter of Freddo and Kush. As you can see, she took after her mother with her tiny size but her purrsonality more than makes up for that. Sox LOVES to climb, especially the net door we have stopping entry to the kitchen (and its enticing countertops) — she’ll even look backwards at you as you tell her to climb down, as if she’s saying “But look! Look how high I got!” A vocal little girl with so much energy, I get tired just watching her zoom around. An in-out-in-out-in-out cat who loves a lap cuddle (when Sookie allows) and all the attention you can possible give her. All the time. Every day. A playful kitty with the sweetest temperament. A nuzzly, snuggly, cheeky little bean.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my gorgeous babies. They’re the best things to come in to my life and I’d be lost without them.
Until next time,
